Spherical Segment

The spherical segment is a solid which is a part of a hemisphere (half of a sphere), bounded by two parallel planes which intersect this hemisphere.

Spherical segment formulas

Volume  `V = (pi*h^2)/6 * (3*r_1^2+3*r_2^2+h^2)`

Area excluding the two bases (or spherical zone area)  `A_l=2*pi*R*h`

Area including the two bases (or spherical segment area) `A=pi*(2*R*h + r_1^2+r_2^2)`
